Focus on Powell testimony on Tuesday & Wednesday, US labour data Friday (JOLTS and Challenger Layoffs also due Weds/Thurs), China annual session of National People’s Congress, no change expected from Bank of Canada Wednesday or Bank of Japan on Friday (also Kuroda’s last meeting as governor). China Trade on Tuesday and CPI/PPI on Thursday; German Orders and Industrial Production Tues/Weds; Canada labour data on Friday.
Commodities events: CERAWeek annual energy conference March 6 to 10; US EIA monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) Tuesday; USDA WASDE & China CASDE monthly S&D reports on Wednesday; Bursa Malaysia Palm Oil Conference March 6 to 8; Australia ABARES grains conference on Tuesday & Wednesday; US Purdue Agriculture Sentiment Tuesday; Mysteel Indonesia Nickel Supply Chain Summit Friday; Toronto PDAC mineral exploration and mining convention 5 to 8 March.
