London Wheat Report

A mixture on screen today across most of the Ag complex after a mixture of bargain buying and the China/ US trade optimism boosted demand hopefulness. An upcoming meeting between the two power nations in Switzerland this weekend was seen as positive in easing trading tensions. There was however some bearish news that also gave some downside on the markets including favourable rain in the Black Sea region and improved U.S. harvest prospects.

A group of Oklahoma crop experts on Tuesday projected Oklahoma’s 2025 winter wheat harvest at 101.169 million bushels, with an average yield of 35.9 bushels per acre, following an annual tour of the state, said Mike Schulte, executive director of the Oklahoma Wheat Commission.

Brazilian farmers are looking to expand Soybean acreage by half a million hectares in the 2025/26 growing season which starts on September 25, according to Andre Pessoa the president of the Agribusiness consultancy, Agroconsult.

Argentina’s already delayed Soy harvest has seen further delays after heavy rains and high humidity affected the country’s main agricultural areas. According to experts and data from the National Meteorological Service, Argentina’s grains belt received between 30 millimetres (1.18 inches) and 50 millimetres of rain over the past several days, ending a streak of sunny days which had allowed many farmers to start up their combines for the first time this season. The harvest is nine percentage points behind last season’s pace, with 25% of the area already harvested, the latest data from the agricultural ministry showed.
